Sweet adulthood; parties, university life, drinking, driving… Bills, rent, work, study… Yeah, it has its ups and downs, but hopefully you got some friends there to make things all right. Characters from the Naruto universe have been taken and thrust into modern day Japan. The rookie nine are 20 or so, and they along with everyone else live in Tokyo trying to make ends meet. Do they live with their parents? Are they in university? What is their life goal, who are their friends? That’s the amazing thing about AU—you decide based off of their personalities. Here are some things you should know when fleshing out their characters.
* -Sasuke is very, very grateful that his brother never decided to kill his entire family. He really is. That means yes, you can have Uchiha characters, and yes you can be Itachi or any other canon Uchiha. So, no massacre folks!
* Undergrad for Japan is three years. Depending on when your character left highschool (generally around 17-18) they could be either in their final year of undergrad or taking their first year of grad school. Or working… It all depends on what your character’s career is.
* If no canons interest you, then make your own character! Have fun and though you’re trying to be realistic, be creative too. After all, what fun is a city if there are no fun people in it? PS. Original doesn’t mean taking a character from another show and placing them here. That’s crossover, and we’d rather keep it Naruto. K Thx ;P
* Tokyo is a swell place, so I’ve heard. Take advantage of the diversity of the districts. Use them as a guideline for what your character could be doing. For instance, did you know Shinjuku has a red light and has the best known gay district? All you yaoi fangirls rejoice. Your character could be a Host or Hostess working there, so long as they’re old enough.
Most Canons are open, Girls needed!
